Terms of Service

By downloading or using PickupPals you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app.

1. Your account

You must be at least 13 years old to use PickupPals. You’re responsible for keeping your login secure and for everything that happens under your account. Give us accurate information and keep it current.

2. Acceptable use

Don’t do any of the following:

• Harass, threaten, impersonate or abuse other users.
• Post false, misleading or spam listings and games.
• Manipulate the rating system, including retaliatory or coordinated ratings.
• Use the app for anything illegal, or to organise anything unsafe.
• Scrape, reverse-engineer or interfere with the service.

We may suspend or remove accounts that break these rules.

3. Content you post

You keep ownership of what you post. By posting it, you grant us a licence to host, display and distribute it within the app so the service can function. You’re responsible for making sure you have the right to post it.

4. Games are organised by users, not by us

Pickup sport carries real risk of injury, and meeting people from the internet carries its own risks. You take part at your own risk. Use your judgement: meet in public places, check the venue is appropriate, and make sure you’re fit to play. We don’t screen users or verify that a listed location is available, safe or lawful to use.

5. Ratings

Ratings are user-generated opinions, offered optionally, and are not a verified measure of anyone’s ability. Treat them as a rough signal, nothing more.

6. Availability

We aim to keep the app running but don’t guarantee uninterrupted service. We may change, suspend or discontinue features at any time.

7. Disclaimers and liability

The app is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law. To the maximum extent permitted by law, PickupPals is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for injury, loss or dispute arising from games arranged through the app or interactions between users. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

8. Termination

You can stop using PickupPals and delete your account at any time. We may terminate or suspend access if you breach these terms.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised version.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia, Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
